Evan Kindley is a film critic and cultural historian based in Los Angeles. He is a contributing writer for The New Republic and a regular contributor to The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and other publications. He is the author of the book “The Age of Criticism: A History of Film and Television Criticism in the United States” (University of California Press, 2020). He is also a professor at the University of Southern California, where he teaches courses on film and television history and criticism.
