    Bio:

    Walter Tevis (1928-1984) was an American novelist and short story writer. He is best known for his works “The Hustler,” “The Color of Money,” and “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” all of which were adapted into successful films. Tevis also wrote science fiction and mystery novels, and his work often explored themes of alienation and addiction. He struggled with alcoholism throughout his life and died of lung cancer at the age of 56.
