    Bio:

Thomas Hardy (1840-1928) was an English novelist and poet. He is best known for his novels, including “Tess of the d’Urbervilles” and “Jude the Obscure,” which often dealt with themes of social injustice and the struggles of rural life. Hardy was also a prolific poet, with works such as “The Darkling Thrush” and “Neutral Tones” gaining critical acclaim. He was a controversial figure in his time, with some critics condemning his frank depictions of sexuality and others praising his realism and social commentary.
