    Lajos Biró was a Hungarian playwright, screenwriter, and novelist. He was born on August 4, 1880, in Budapest, Hungary, and died on September 9, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, USA. Biró was known for his works that explored the human condition and the complexities of relationships. He wrote over 100 plays, including “The Red Poppy,” “The Last Lord,” and “The Laughing Woman.” Biró also wrote screenplays for several films, including “The Mysterious Lady” and “The Son of the Sheik.” He was a prominent figure in Hungarian literature and was awarded the Kossuth Prize in 1948.
