Jules Verne (1828-1905) was a French novelist, poet, and playwright. He is best known for his adventure novels, including “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea,” and “Around the World in Eighty Days.” Verne is often referred to as the “Father of Science Fiction” and his works have been translated into over 150 languages. He was born in Nantes, France and studied law before pursuing a career in writing. Verne’s fascination with science and technology is evident in his works, which often feature futuristic inventions and exploration of the unknown. He died in Amiens, France at the age of 77.
