    Henry James (1843-1916) was an American-British writer known for his novels and short stories that explored the complexities of human relationships and the clash of cultures. He was born in New York City to a wealthy family and spent much of his life traveling between Europe and America. James is considered one of the most important figures in the development of modernist literature and his works continue to be studied and admired today. Some of his most famous works include “The Portrait of a Lady,” “The Turn of the Screw,” and “The Wings of the Dove.”
