Gil Kenan is an American filmmaker and screenwriter known for his work on the animated film “Monster House” and the horror movie “Poltergeist” (2015). He was born on October 16, 1976, in London, England, and grew up in California. Kenan studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned a degree in animation. He began his career as a director with the short film “The Lark” (2001) and later went on to direct “Monster House” (2006) and “City of Ember” (2008). As a screenwriter, he has worked on several projects, including the upcoming “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (2021).
