    George Abbott (1887-1995) was an American theater producer, director, and playwright. He was known for his work on Broadway, where he produced and directed numerous successful productions, including “The Pajama Game” and “Damn Yankees.” Abbott also wrote several plays, including “Broadway” and “Three Men on a Horse.” He was a recipient of numerous awards, including the Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. Abbott passed away in 1995 at the age of 107.
