Girard is best known for his films such as “Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould,” “The Red Violin,” and “Silk.” He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Academy Award for Best Original Score for “The Red Violin.” Girard is also a stage director and has worked on productions for the Metropolitan Opera and the Canadian Opera Company.
