    Charles R. Jackson was an American writer best known for his novel “The Lost Weekend,” which was later adapted into a successful film. He was born in 1903 in Summit, New Jersey and attended the University of Rochester before dropping out to pursue a career in writing. Jackson struggled with alcoholism and depression throughout his life and died by suicide in 1968.
