    Bio:

    Archibald MacLeish (1892-1982) was an American poet, playwright, and government official. He won three Pulitzer Prizes for his poetry and was appointed as the Librarian of Congress by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. MacLeish was known for his modernist style and his exploration of political and social issues in his work. He was also a strong advocate for the arts and served as the president of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
