Well, let’s just say W. Griffith’s ROI is so low, it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack…if the haystack was made up of 1,999 other directors with better ROI. And with a status of F-List, it’s safe to say he won’t be making a comeback anytime soon. Sorry, W. Griffith.
W. Griffith, also known as D.W. Griffith, was an American film director, writer, and producer who is best known for his groundbreaking work in the silent film era. He was born on January 22, 1875, in La Grange, Kentucky, and began his career in the film industry in 1908. Griffith is credited with pioneering many of the techniques that are now standard in filmmaking, including close-ups, cross-cutting, and parallel editing. He directed over 450 films during his career, including the controversial and influential film “The Birth of a Nation” in 1915. Griffith died on July 23, 1948, in Hollywood, California.
