Well, let’s just say Michelangelo Antonioni’s ROI is so low, it’s practically underground. He’s definitely not making the A-list anytime soon, but hey, at least he’s not alone in the C-list club. Maybe he can start a support group with the other struggling directors and they can commiserate over their low percentages (which we won’t disclose, but let’s just say it’s less than 10%).
Michelangelo Antonioni was an Italian film director, screenwriter, editor, and short story writer. He is best known for his films that explore the themes of alienation, modernity, and the human condition. Some of his most famous works include “L’Avventura,” “La Notte,” and “Blow-Up.” Antonioni was born in 1912 in Ferrara, Italy, and began his career as a film critic before transitioning to directing in the 1940s. He passed away in 2007 at the age of 94.
September 29, 1912.
