Well, let’s just say Jules Dassin’s ROI is so low, it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack…if the haystack was made up of 1,999 other directors with better returns. And with a C-List status, it looks like he’s not exactly the cream of the crop. Sorry, Jules.
 

Jules Dassin was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on December 18, 1911, in Middletown, Connecticut, and died on March 31, 2008, in Athens, Greece. Dassin is best known for his work in film noir, including the classic films “The Naked City” and “Rififi.” He was also blacklisted during the McCarthy era and subsequently moved to Europe, where he continued to make films. Dassin was married to actress Melina Mercouri and directed her in several films.
