Gil Kenan is an American filmmaker known for his work in the horror and animation genres. He was born on October 16, 1976, in London, England, and raised in California. Kenan attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a degree in animation. He made his feature film debut in 2006 with the horror movie “Monster House,” which was a critical and commercial success. Kenan went on to direct the animated film “City of Ember” in 2008 and the horror remake “Poltergeist” in 2015. He has also directed episodes of the TV series “Tales from the Crypt” and “Wayward Pines.”
