Albert Hughes is a film director and producer known for his work on movies such as Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, and The Book of Eli. He was born on April 1, 1972, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Los Angeles, California. Along with his twin brother, Allen Hughes, he formed the Hughes Brothers production company and began making films in the early 1990s. The brothers gained critical acclaim for their gritty depictions of urban life and their ability to capture the struggles of marginalized communities. While Allen has since moved on to other projects, Albert continues to work in the film industry, directing and producing movies and television shows.
