Ruth Hussey was an American actress best known for her role as photographer Elizabeth Imbrie in the 1940 romantic comedy The Philadelphia Story. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance. She also appeared in films such as The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, and The Uninvited. Hussey retired from acting in the late 1950s and died in 2005 at the age of 93.
