Peter Mayhew was an English-American actor, best known for his role as Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise. He was born in Barnes, London, England in 1944 and moved to the United States in the 1970s. He was a frequent collaborator with George Lucas, appearing in all three original Star Wars films, as well as Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens. He also made appearances in various other films and television shows. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 74.
