Owen Suskind is an American author and advocate for autism awareness. He is the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ron Suskind and his wife, Cornelia. At age three, Owen was diagnosed with regressive autism and was unable to communicate for years. His parents discovered that he could understand and respond to Disney films, which became a key to unlocking his communication. Owen has since become a powerful voice for autism awareness, and his story was featured in the Academy Award-winning documentary Life, Animated. He has written a book about his experiences, entitled Life, Animated: A Story of Sidekicks, Heroes, and Autism.
