Orson Welles was an American actor, director, writer, and producer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. He is best known for his iconic films Citizen Kane (1941) and The Third Man (1949). Welles was also a celebrated stage actor, radio performer, and magician. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Citizen Kane and won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the same film. He died in 1985 at the age of 70.
