Kathy Asheton was an American musician and actress best known as the drummer for the proto-punk band The Stooges. She was the sister of guitarist Ron Asheton and bassist Scott Asheton, and the only female member of the band. She was a founding member of the band, playing on their first two albums, The Stooges and Fun House. After the band’s breakup in 1974, she went on to pursue a career in acting, appearing in films such as The Return of the Living Dead and The Wild Life. She died in 2009 at the age of 60.
