Jon Stone was an American television producer, director, writer, and puppeteer. He was best known for his work on the children’s television series Sesame Street, which he helped create and develop. He wrote and directed many of the show’s earliest episodes and was the show’s first head writer. He also wrote and directed the first two feature films based on the show. Stone was a three-time Emmy Award winner and was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1997. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 65.
