Joan Greenwood (1921-1987) was an English actress best known for her roles in the Ealing comedies Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) and The Man in the White Suit (1951). She was also known for her roles in the horror films The Haunting (1963) and The Curse of the Werewolf (1961). She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best British Actress for her performance in The Man in the White Suit. She was also a successful stage actress, appearing in productions of plays by Shakespeare, Shaw, and Chekhov.
