Jeanine Basinger is an American film historian, author, and educator. She is the Corwin-Fuller Professor of Film Studies at Wesleyan University and the founder and curator of the Wesleyan Cinema Archives. She is the author of numerous books on film, including The Star Machine, A Woman’s View: How Hollywood Spoke to Women, 1930-1960, and Silent Stars. She has also served as a consultant for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the National Film Preservation Board.
