    Charles Bronson (1921-2003) was an American actor best known for his tough-guy roles in films such as The Magnificent Seven, The Dirty Dozen, and the Death Wish series. He was born Charles Buchinsky in Pennsylvania to Lithuanian immigrants and began his career as a miner before turning to acting. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in The Great Escape and was also known for his roles in Once Upon a Time in the West and The Mechanic.
