After Yang (2022)
RT Audience Score: 67%
Awards & Nominations: 13 wins & 43 nominations
Although its reach occasionally exceeds its grasp, After Yang yields rich rewards for those willing to settle into its low-key wavelength.
After Yang is like a futuristic version of a family drama, but with robots. It’s a thought-provoking film that explores themes of identity, memory, and the meaning of family. Colin Farrell gives a great performance as a father who is struggling to connect with his family and his android son. The film is visually stunning, with beautiful cinematography and editing that adds to the dreamlike quality of the story. Overall, After Yang is a unique and engaging film that will leave you thinking about it long after the credits roll.

Buoyed by the charm of Matthew Broderick in the title role and Marlon Brando as a caricature of his Godfather persona, The Freshman benefits from solid casting, a clever premise, and sweet humor
The Freshman is a classic comedy that will have you laughing from start to finish. Marlon Brando’s performance as a Don Corleone with a screw loose is absolutely hilarious, and the rest of the cast delivers some great comedic moments as well. The film’s plot is full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the writing is clever and witty. Back to the Future Part III draws the trilogy to a satisfying close with a simpler, sweeter round of time-travel antics
Back to the Future Part III is the perfect conclusion to the trilogy, and it’s a wild ride through the Old West. The film ties up all the loose ends from the previous installments, and it’s a blast to see Marty McFly and Doc Brown in a new setting. The romance between Christopher Lloyd and Mary Steenburgen is surprisingly sweet, and Michael J. Fox is as charming as ever. Plus, the repetition of certain jokes and gags is absolutely hilarious. It’s a silly movie, but it’s a lot of fun. Yeehaw!

A potboiler in the finest sense, Fatal Attraction is a sultry, juicy thriller that’s hard to look away from once it gets going
Fatal Attraction is the kind of movie that makes you want to lock your doors and never leave your house again. But let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to watch Glenn Close go full-on crazy and boil a bunny? It’s a classic ’80s thriller that still manages to hold up today, even if the depiction of mental health is a bit questionable. Plus, Michael Douglas and Anne Archer give great performances as the couple caught in the middle of Close’s madness. Overall, it’s a must-watch for anyone who loves a good suspenseful ride. Just maybe don’t watch it alone.

Under the direction of Adrian Lyne, most of the picture’s situations seem like randomly chosen place holders, flat events that just fill time until the final bizarre confrontation.

While billed as a romance and a thriller, the film strictly qualifies as neither, appealing to our prurience, guilt, hatred, and dread.

Years hence, it will be possible to pinpoint the exact moment that produced Fatal Attraction, Adrian Lyne’s new romantic thriller, and the precise circumstances that made it a hit.

Sure, Alex may be little more than a bunny-boiling stalker but Fatal Attraction is still notable for Close’s resilient, complex performance.

Save for the horror-movie finale (which, despite being unforgettable, is something of a misstep), there’s nothing too overblown or exaggerated about this harrowing duel.
