Critics Consensus

Beavis and Butt-Head Do America is unabashedly offensive, unapologetically stupid, and unexpectedly funny

Audience Consensus

Beavis and Butt-Head Do America is a movie that’s so stupid, it’s actually smart. The two moronic protagonists are a delight to watch as they stumble their way through a ridiculous plot that involves them trying to find their stolen TV. The humor is juvenile, but it’s impossible not to laugh at their antics. Even if you’re not a fan of the TV show, this movie is worth a watch just for the sheer absurdity of it all. So grab some nachos and get ready to laugh until you cry.

Faithful fans of the MTV series will no doubt be amused. But the few newcomers who pay the price of admission likely will wonder what all the fuss has been about.

Mike Judge has managed the difficult task of acknowledging Beavis & Butt-head’s humanity — the implicit worth of the human soul, no matter how stunted or feral — while condemning their every unthinking act
