RT Audience Score: 76%

High-octane fun that’s smartly assembled without putting on airs, Logan Lucky marks a welcome end to Steven Soderbergh’s retirement — and proves he hasn’t lost his ability to entertain
Logan Lucky is the kind of movie that makes you want to rob a bank with your siblings. It’s a heist film with heart, humor, and a whole lot of southern charm. The cast is top-notch, with Channing Tatum and Adam Driver playing lovable redneck brothers and Daniel Craig stealing the show as a bleach-blonde safecracker. Steven Soderbergh directs with his signature style, making even the most complicated plot points easy to follow. It’s a fun ride from start to finish, and you’ll be rooting for the Logan family every step of the way.

Lucky Logan comes with a twist, plenty of spirit and is gratifying in its own way.

Logan Lucky is a rarity on multiple levels, just as remarkable as what the film comes to call “the Hillbilly Heist.”

Soderbergh films the movie with swing, relishing the overlapping and intertwining strands of the complex plot, the brightly lit personalities of the characters it involves, and the magnificently conceived, essential tiny details …

Though the prison break and heist scenes are slickly and efficiently staged, the film’s great strength is its good nature.

It’s funny, it’s fun, it’s incredibly well acted and Soderbergh creates a really immaculate atmosphere around the characters. A really enjoyable movie. [Full review in Spanish]

Logan Lucky doesn’t crackle like some of Soderbergh’s previous heist films, … but it does operate with the kind of low hum of an expertly crafted engine.

Deep Focus Review
Logan Lucky is both a portrait of working-class America and a clever bit of wish-fulfillment in which a fundamentally broken but self-perpetuating system is put in its place to the benefit of those in need.

[Channing Tatum and Adam Driver] show impeccable comedy chops in this hilarious heist caper. But Daniel Craig is the MVP, with a performance that has to be seen to be believed.

Plot
When Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) gets fired, he convinces his brother Clyde (Adam Driver) and sister Mellie (Riley Keough) to help him rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway during a NASCAR Race. But they will need the help of Joe Bang (Daniel Craig), a convicted safe-cracker who is currently doing time. All they have to do is break Joe out, blow the racetrack vault, get away with the cash, return Joe to prison, and get Jimmy to his daughter’s beauty pageant on time. What could possibly go wrong? Well, there is the Logan family curse .
