Gasland is a documentary that exposes the devastating effects of fracking on the environment and the people who live near fracking sites. With a combination of powerful imagery and compelling interviews, director Josh Fox paints a picture of a corporate culture that is willing to sacrifice the health and safety of ordinary Americans for the sake of profit. The film is a wake-up call for anyone who cares about the future of our planet, and a reminder that we must take action now to protect our natural resources and our communities. With its mix of humor, intelligence, and passion, Gasland is a must-see for anyone who wants to understand the true cost of our addiction to fossil fuels.
Gasland is a documentary that will make you want to hug your water bottle and never let go. With shocking footage of kitchen taps on fire and a corporate greed that would make Gordon Gekko blush, this film is a must-see for anyone who cares about the environment. It’s like a horror movie, but instead of zombies, the villains are oil and gas companies. So grab some popcorn and get ready to be scared straight.

With a remorselessness all the more powerful for its quiet unfussiness, Fox builds up a riveting portrait of near-apocalyptic environmental damage and a corporate mindset willing to ruin water sources irrevocably for the sake of a few years’ profit.

Plot
It is happening all across America-rural landowners wake up one day to find a lucrative offer from an energy company wanting to lease their property. Reason? The company hopes to tap into a reservoir dubbed the “Saudi Arabia of natural gas.” Halliburton developed a way to get the gas out of the ground-a hydraulic drilling process called “fracking”-and suddenly America finds itself on the precipice of becoming an energy superpower.
