Andor Kraszna-Krausz (1909-1999) was a Hungarian-born British film critic, historian, and theorist. He was a major figure in the development of film studies in the UK, and was the founding editor of the British Film Institute’s journal, Sight and Sound. He wrote several books on film, including The Art of the Cinema (1958) and The History of the Cinema (1970). He was also a major influence on the development of film archives in the UK.
